CBT in specialist weight management

CBT  stands for cognitive behavioural therapy and consists of therapeutic interventions targeting unhelpful thinking and behaviours to improve moods and overall wellbeing.

CBT is used in weight management  to help target unhelpful thinking and behaviours which get in the way of you managing your health and wellbeing effectively, for example challenging the behaviour of turning to food for emotional comfort, along with the negative self-critical thoughts which often follow and make you feel even worse.

In this section you will find useful resources, to compliment your 1:1 or group work, along with the questionnaires below to monitor your mood and the effectiveness of the treatment.

Please complete the form below, at the start of your CBT sessions and again when the full course of 6 sessions has finished. This enables us to evaluate whether the sessions have helped improve your mood or not, and help us to develop services accordingly. Your feedback is of great value to us! Thank you.

You will also find a brief mood survey (BMS), to be completed before and after EACH session under the heading to your right; ‘CBT  resources for the group and 1:1’, where you will also find all of the course material, used within your sessions.  Again we would greatly appreciate your time to fill in these forms before and after each session, to help us improve as a service. Thank you
