How to get in?
- Log in via yellow banner at the top of the page
- Go to in-depth searching at the bottom at the page
- Select the database you want to search
Alternatively via OpenAthens
- Log into your OpenAthens account and from the Resources page, click on “OVID Online“.
- Choose a database to search – you can choose more than one, but you have less control over the search, so we prefer one at a time. Click OK.
- Now you’ll see the OVID search interface. Remember to click ‘My Account‘ at the top of the page (you’ll probably need to create an account the first time) – this will let you save your results and searches.
Remember, a tools like PICO (clinical questions), ECLIPS (service design) or SPICE (qualitative questions) might help you organise your search.
OVID have produced videos to help you search:
OVID basic search (3mins)
OVID basic searching – more detail (52mins)
OVID Advanced searching – all topics (1hr)
Advanced search – Keyword mapping and Boolean searching (4mins)
Advanced search – Subject Headings (4mins)
Advanced search – Limits (3mins)
